Dorothy’s Place: Full-Service Marketing

The challenge:

Dorothy’s Place was in need of tremendous funding and set out to raise $70,000 with less than 3 months left in the year to do it. They didn’t have a modern website with the infrastructure to receive online donations or a marketing strategy in place to raise the funds.

How I helped: 

I led the team that executed and completed the marketing strategy that raised over $70,000 in 3 months for Dorothy’s Place. We did the following:

  • Created a customized website that was tailored to donor acquisition 
  • Put organic social media strategy into place: this included creating multiple campaign videos, graphics, and posting to all of their social media platforms daily for 3 months (which turned into a 2-year relationship)
  • Advertised on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube to reach the local community
  • Created biweekly newsletters for the 3-month campaign we ran, after that we released monthly newsletters

Final Results: 

With my strategy in place, Dorothy’s Place raised over $70,000 in less than 3 months, which allowed the organization to keep running the following year. $57,000 of that money came from an online competition we encouraged donors to give to, while the rest was given through their newly overhauled website.
